Alpine Aureole

It was so fun to have worked on this compilation through the record label Tone Burst. On this release, artists were asked to respond to the prompt “alpine aureole.”

I made my response by taking a tape loop I had previously recorded, rubbing a magnet on it, and processing it into a soundscape. The clicks caused by the splice on the loop became expanded by the reverb into a timpani sound. The result is dark, windy, and low end heavy. The mini CD release sold out in minutes.
