Field Recording: Chippewa Nature Center

A recording of the Chippewa Nature Center, a couple miles from Dragonfly Marsh. This has a strange start as you can hear gunshots and people from a nearby event. Once again my attempt to get far enough that you can't hear humans has failed. I used the ORTF mic arrangement. I tried using the 2.8 MHZ DSD feature of the Sony PCM D 100. I don't know if this is a benefit at all because I obviously had to down-convert it. If anyone has any tips on how to work with this format, please let me know. When mastering, I found that Fabfilter's multiband compressor was an awesome way to reduce noise in these recordings. The key feature is that you can transform the bands from compression to expansion. This works great for field recordings because the wind noise stays at a consistent level while the foreground sounds are transient.
